At the height of Israel’s coronavirus lockdown this past March, most residents’ lives shrunk to four walls. Parks were shuttered, same with beaches, and walks outside were limited to no more than a city block. Worse still, efforts to slow the spread of the pandemic arrived right at the beginning of the Passover and Easter holidays, when large gatherings, suddenly prohibited, are the norm.
